Meet the Wits!
The people bringing the laughs!
Bob Bedore - Founder and Director
With Quick Wits since 1994
Bob is The Godfather of Utah Improv. He started Quick Wits in 1994 when there was no improv in the state and has watched the scene grow and grow. He has two books on teaching improv, but says that he will never stop learning himself. Bob has close to 4,000 shows under his belt with no plans of slowing down. Improv has given him so much in life and he loves to return the favor.
Jason Wild - Operations Manager
With Quick Wits since 2008
Known for his bushy beard, sharp wit, and love for everything 80s, Jason is at home onstage doing comedy of all varieties; long and short-form improv, theatre, and stand-up. Jason is a founding member of the Wasatch Improv Festival, has appeared alongside troupes all over Utah, and has taught improv all across the country. Jason has an M.Ed., a passion for teaching, and a propensity for saying yes to too much (thanks a lot, improv).
Aleks Ignjatovic
With Quick Wits since 2012
Aleks began studying improv in 2005 and has been wildly passionate about creating crazy characters and taking scenes to unknown places ever since! He's been performing with Quick Wits since 2012, and his love of comedy has really been strengthened by the wonderful performers, off-stage Wits, and the audience that comes to see us perform every weekend! He is also a part of the 3-man act, Brainal Probe. When Aleks isn't on stage, you can find him on YouTube (AleksSuks) or hanging out with his family!
Alex Ray Butler
With Quick Wits since 2022
In preschool, when Alex was asked what he wanted to be when he grew up he quickly answered with "Batman".... Clearly that happened, so now he's moved on to achieving his next dream. When he's not participating in some of his favorite hobbies like; making stupid TikTok videos, microwave foil recipes, weekly pyramid schemes, competitive sleeping, old people fight club, artisanal shoplifting, and hiking, Alex is doing improv! He's been in the improv scene since 2008 with multiple troupes in the Ogden area, and now has made his debut with the Qwick Wits family in 2022!
Andrew Jensen
With Quick Wits since 2000
Andrew has been performing with Quick Wits for over 20 years! Say what! He also performs in the musical comedy trio ToySoup with Beans along side fellow comedians Ben Brinton and Troy Taylor. Andrew started performing at the young age of 13 as a reluctant background dancer in community theater. He then learned he was obnoxious enough to upstage people and this paved the way for a career in improv. When he’s not on stage or in front of the camera he directs and shoots his own short films with his local production company Red Grass Media. •. www.regress.media •. www.toysoupcomedy.com
Aussie Marie
With Quick Wits since 2018
Aussie Marie is a Salt Lake based improviser; she has been with QW since 2018 but has been doing improv in 2014. When she’s not onstage she enjoys playing poker and smelling the flowers. “Know your worth.”
Ben Brinton
With Quick Wits since 2003
Ben is a senior cast member with QuickWits and has been performing for over twenty years. He’s played the guitar most his life and contributes as musical accompaniment and singer. As a graduate of the University of Utah Ben has toured with nationally recognize Shakespeare companies, produces his own songs, and is the third member of the comedy trio ToySoup w Beans. Blake True Heywood
With Quick Wits since 2012
My name is Blake True Heywood. Many years ago, contrary to popular belief, I was born. Shortly after, I was making people laugh and have been ever since. I’m currently the President, founder, co-founder, sultan, and king of BTrue Design, my own personal freelance graphic design company. I also do all of the graphic and web design for Quick Wits as the Director of Art and Design. I dedicate all my shows to my wife Breckon and three sons Britain, Brigham, and Bennett. I’m eternally grateful for all of them!
Brittany Breed
With Quick Wits since 2020
Brittany Breed has been performing professionally since preschool and is a big fan of alliteration. Hailing from Vegas and LA, Brittany is a graduate of USC and BYU Law. Ahem, nerd. Singing, acting, and improv are her game and Mommy is her name to 5 year old Beckham and 1 year old Berkeley. She lives with her family in SLC.
Brittney Nielson
With Quick Wits since 2011
Brittney is a female. She is sometimes funny. It is for these two reasons that she continues to get stage time. Outside of the Quick Wits world she also been sighted with Troops that must not be named. As far as we know, when she isn't on stage here she evaporates back into the ether. Actor, Singer, Writer, Podcaster, Cartoon look-a-like and Bacon enthusiast.
Brooks Bedore
With Quick Wits since 2013
I've been with Quick Wits since 2013. Before that, I would watch my dad on stage most weekends, and try to learn as much as I could. I've been a little jokester since I learned how to talk. Always trying to get a chuckle out of my siblings. I love the challenge and fun that Improv brings! It helps me flex those creative muscles and let loose on stage. Getting to play with all of the talented folks in this crew is a delight!
Cameron Stewart
With Quick Wits since 2000
Cameron started playing QuickWits way back in 2000 after going to an improv workshop on a dare. Making him one of the OG players. He is a man of many characters, including such favorites as Harold Winthrop III, lovable Spencer, Jonny Goodfellow, Professor Lampart, and Manuel Del Scorcho. He's always down for Newlywed Game, Accents, Pickup Lines, Missing Shakespeare, Mousetrap, or any character game. Cameron's married to his hottest, but toughest, critic, and has four kids, who he still drags to shows periodically to remind them he's still cool. Wisely he has never quit his day job where he works as a business excutive. QuickWits is the dysfunctional family he's always dreamed of.
Chase Dickerson
With Quick Wits since 2012
Chase Dickerson started doing improv comedy back in 2012 at The Off Broadway Theatre in downtown Salt Lake City. There, Chase took several improv classes and participated in over a dozen of the theatre's signature parody plays to hone his acting and comedic skills. Today, Chase is a member of several improvisational comedy troupes in the Salt Lake valley. Chase enjoys the collaboration and creativeness of improv, as well as the great friends he gets to laugh and play with.
Doug Bollschweiller
With Quick Wits since 2012
Doug got roped into comedy after walking into a coffee shop and seeing several soon-to-be Quick Wits actors performing improv. One decade and several internships later, he now performs regularly with Quick Wits and almost every other Utah improv troupe. He’s studied improv and sketch comedy at the Pack and Westside Comedy theaters in Los Angeles, performed on house teams for years, and loves workshopping with both new and experienced actors. He enjoys bringing the skills learned into every aspect of life, including D&D campaigns and one-shot theater performances.
Elizabeth Auron
With Quick Wits since 2022
Elizabeth Auron has been doing improv since 2016. She also has experience in film and musical theater, but improv is her home.
Jacob Harenberg
With Quick Wits since 2013
Jake did not do theatre in high school; in fact, he didn’t grace the stage until the ripe year of 2008. He was "scenery" in Much Ado about Nothing. He has been perfecting his art of transforming into bushes, shrubbery, and other such topiaries since then. Jake has been doing improv for about 15 years. He has three children and an amazing wife that put up with his tomfoolery on a daily basis. He is glad to call this stage home and hopes to continue his shenanigans here until his... well dying day is a big commitment... let’s just say the foreseeable future if you’re into that sort of thing.
Jackson Holladay
With Quick Wits since 2022
Jackson has been doing improv comedy since he was 13 years old, and after people started laughing at him he mistook it that they were laughing with him and decided to keep doing it. Jackson has performed in various improv theatres around Salt Lake City, at Thanksgiving Pointe, FanX (2019), and the Red Rocks Festival in Cedar City. When not doing improv, Jackson is a poorly attended college student.
Jennifer Bedore
With Quick Wits since 2010
Jennifer Bedore discovered Quick Wits in 2009 when she and Bob were cast in a play together; “Arsenic and Old Lace” in case you’re wondering. Bob invited the cast of the show to see a Quick Wits performance, and she went to see it. She had so much fun she laughed until she cried! She had so much fun, in fact, that she started going every weekend, and before long was asked if she was interested in learning tech to support the troupe. She immediately agreed, and the rest is history. She has been doing tech for Quick Wits since 2010, and has hardly missed a show. She loves watching the audience and the actors respond to the music she plays. It’s nice for her to see the small contribution she makes to the show.
Jesse Markus
With Quick Wits since 2011
Though he currently lives in Bellingham, Washington, Utah will forever hold a special improv place in Jesse's improv heart! Jesse has performed and taught improv around the Western U.S. He is a founding board member of the Wasatch Improv Festival and part of the award-winning duo, Murder Fairy and Arson Leprechaun.
Jillene Stark
With Quick Wits since 2017
Since watching Mel brooks and Monty Python as a child Jill has always geared her thoughts to laughing with others. She has been improvising since 2002 and has felt so lucky to play with troupes such as Off the Cuff and Laughing Stock. She got asked to play for Quick Wits in 2017 and felt immediately accepted and part of the family. Since she requires attention and piggy backs it has been easy to call Quick wits home away from home.
Joel Hilton
With Quick Wits since 2001
Joel has been a fan of "Quick Wits" since the late 90s. He was finally able to join the troupe in the summer of 2001. Since that time, he graduated from BYU, got married and created offspring – all because of his amazing improv skills. Joel is a Pisces, and his favorite improv games include Hecklers, Jip-Parody, Bucket of Water, The Newlywed Game, Accents, Murder Mystery and Foreign Movie Dub. He believes that Mouse Trap was invented by sadists, and Scene in Reverse hurts his head. He is also intimidated by singing games. If there were a color to describe Joel, it would be turquoise. He hates pineapple. He loves movies, Halloween and his family.**Not necessarily in that order.
Lorin Bruns
With Quick Wits since 2017
Lorin has been enjoying improv since high school. There he was inspired by troupes such as Knock your Socks Off and Off the Cuff. He started training and learning improvisation comedy since 2008. He’s performed with troupes all over Utah including: Off the Cuff, The Antics, USU Improv, The Improvables, Laughing Stock, and Quick Wits. He enjoys all types of improv and doubling over in laughter while at Quick Wits.
Michael Haycock
With Quick Wits since 2014
Michael Haycock joined QW in 2014. He is known for his awkard confidence. He is a founding member of the Wasatch improv festival. He isn't around often now that he moved to Washington but always loves returning home and playing with his QW family.
Rachael Lucille Bailey
With Quick Wits since 2015
I started coming to Quickwits when they first came to the Midvale Main Street theater in 2008. I finally dragged my sister and co box office babe to a show the following year. Sarah and I would come most weeks filling up our phones memory card up with pictures while being the only audience member some nights. We started some great Facebook photo albums. When they moved to the Midvale Performing Arts center in 2015 they figured since they couldn’t shake us they would put us to work. I’ve enjoyed being apart of the Quick wits family.
Rob Ferre
With Quick Wits since 2011
Rob first graced the QW stage in 2011 while the troupe played at the Midvale Main Street Theater. Since then, Rob has found his niche as the guy in QW who actually combs his hair and on occasion is funny. When you are not seeing Rob on stage he is traveling the world speaking to audiences, doing game shows, and explaining to people he is not Steve Buscemi. Check him out on RobFerre.com
Sarah Bailey Stewart
With Quick Wits since 2015
Sarah was one of QuickWits biggest fans for years, her sister Lucy (Racheal) almost never missed a show. In 2015 when the Wits moved to the MPAC they needed box office help , so Sarah and Lucy to the rescue (lately mostly Lucy) I mean if we work here it’s less like a creepy stalker situation right .
Sean Sweeney
With Quick Wits since 2015
Sean Sweeney has been with QW since 2015. He has a BFA from Westminster and does theater all around the Salt Lake valley. Sean likes improv, being funny, his family, friends, students, long lists, and abrupt endings.
Sean Michael Timothy
With Quick Wits since 2011
I still need to type out a bio. How long are other people's?
Shawn Zum
With Quick Wits since 2000
In the year 2000, Shawn stepped onto the stage with Quick Wits, now he writes funny commercials, and lives in a van. A whole lot happened in between.
